In narratology and comparative mythology, the hero’s journey, or the monomyth, is the common template of stories that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, is victorious in a decisive crisis, and comes home changed or transformed.
Campbell used the monomyth to deconstruct and compare religions.
I, myself, used the hero’s journey as a template to make a sense of all the mess into I fell in the aftermath of terror attacks, in Paris, 2015 (#ptsdmyjourneyofselfdiscovery#ptsdstoriesmatter).
The Hero’s Journey is in fact a tool that anybody can use once facing hardships.
The 12 Stages of The Hero’s Journey:

1. Ordinary World. This is where the Hero’s exists before his present story begins, oblivious of the adventures to come. …
2. Call To Adventure. …

4. Meeting The Mentor. …
5. Crossing The Threshold. …
6. Tests, Allies, Enemies. …
7. Approach To The Inmost Cave. …
8. Ordeal.
